As a tutor, you will play a vital role in providing academic support and guidance to students in a variety of subjects, including Accounting, Anatomy/Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity/Information Sciences and Technology, Economics, English/Writing, Finance, History, Math, Microbiology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physics/Engineering, Psychology, Statistics, Study Skills, and Spanish.About the Role
As a Part Time Peer and Professional Tutor, you will be responsible for:- Providing one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to students in a variety of subjects
- Developing and implementing effective tutoring strategies to meet the needs of diverse student populations
- Monitoring appointment notifications and being prompt for scheduled sessions
- Being knowledgeable about scheduling and available to meet as a group or with the coordinator as needed
- Handling interactions tactfully and effectively, and keeping information regarding all students confidential
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Collaborating with other tutors and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications and requirements:- Professional tutors should have a degree completed in a related field of study
- Peer Tutors should be excellent students who are knowledgeable in their subject areas and capable of effectively conveying that knowledge to others
- To be a Peer Tutor, a student must achieve an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a minimum of a A- in the subject(s) tutored
- Professional tutors should have relevant work experience or a strong understanding of the subject matter
- Peer Tutors should be available to work a minimum of 5 hours per week
