Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to lead the technical direction of our data management projects and drive them to completion. The successful candidate will be an expert in teaching and training their teams, providing opportunities for success, and working with individuals to develop deep engineering skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build infrastructure, installations, and extensive libraries to support research products
  • Develop and implement product strategies in collaboration with business and technology partners
  • Anticipate, identify, and solve problems related to data management to improve data quality
  • Clean, prepare, and optimize data for consumption and analysis
  • Solve complex data problems and conduct root cause analysis programs to effectively resolve product and operational issues
  • Lead the implementation of new data management projects and modify existing data structures as necessary
  • Develop a system for continuous integration, test development, and production deployment
  • Add complexity to automated workflows and processes using workflow management tools
  • Teach, develop, and lead other data engineers in creating standard processes that can be adopted by the team
  • Analyze and profile data in designing scalable solutions
  • Lead collaborative analysis of design, code, test plans, and implementation datasets performed by other data engineers to support the development of data engineering principles

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational foundation in a relevant field, such as information technology, computer science, engineering, or business. You will also need to have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a related field, with prior experience working with financial data and systems. Advanced experience building high-performance, scalable, real-time data solutions in the cloud is also required.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Strong experience with Python, Spark, Airflow, and other relevant technologies
  • Strong experience with cloud data stacks (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Ability to create complex data solutions
  • Strong understanding of technical solutions and design
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience working in end-to-end solution design
  • Experience with relational SQL and scripting languages (such as Shell and Python)
  • Experience with source control tools (such as Github) and related development processes
