As a Crisis Specialist on our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team, you will play a vital role in handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. With a focus on trauma-informed care, you will work collaboratively with our team to ensure that every interaction is guided by empathy, understanding, and a commitment to empowering individuals to overcome their challenges.

**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6pm-2:30am CST). As a Crisis Specialist, you will be responsible for:
* Providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments
* Answering crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs
* Conducting follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
* Meeting the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
* Actively participating in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
* Assisting in administrative tasks as needed
**Requirements**
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
* Six months to one year of related crisis experience
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
* High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
* Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
* Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience working in a crisis hotline or mental health setting
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care and its application in crisis intervention
* Certification in crisis intervention or a related field
