**Experienced Entry-Level Dock Operations Specialist – Freight Handling and Logistics**

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about freight handling, logistics, and customer service to develop their skills and advance their careers. **Job Summary:** As a Dock Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight across our dock area. You will work closely with our team to verify documentation, secure freight, and provide exceptional customer service. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for logistics, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. **Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:** * Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. * Verify documentation matches freight description, using current electronic or manual systems. * Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies, such as pallets, straps, and rope. * Recoup or repair damaged freight when necessary. * Verify and complete required documentation and reports. * Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed. * Perform hostling duties if required. * Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. * Perform other duties as required. **Key Responsibilities:** * Freight handling and movement * Documentation verification and completion * Freight security and storage * Customer service and support * Hostling and yard mule duties (if required) * Compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies **Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent, preferred * Must be at least 18 years of age * Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift operations preferred * If hostler/yard mule duties are required, experience preferred * Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator * Basic written and verbal communication skills * Ability to lift and carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more * Ability to bend, twist, squat, push, and pull freight throughout the shift * Ability to work independently and/or as a team member * Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred **Working Conditions:** * Dock environment; exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise * Hours may vary due to operational need * Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-paced, deadline-oriented **Why Join blithequark?** * Competitive compensation and benefits package * Opportunities for career growth and advancement * Collaborative and dynamic work environment * Comprehensive training and development programs * Recognition and rewards for exceptional performance * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion **Equal Employment Opportunity:** blithequark is an equal opportunity employer, including disabled and veterans.
