IT Project Manager (Remote)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager for a remote, long-term contract position with a state government agency. Under limited supervision, you will be responsible for managing individual project streams related to the Georgia Gateway Modernization project, as well as other software projects within the Childcare and Parent Services Division.
This position creates project plans using appropriate methodologies, coordinates resources, and communicates progress to all stakeholders. You will manage projects through the full lifecycle, from definition through implementation, creating a collaborative partnership with all internal and external team members to accomplish project deliverables.
Please note: This is a remote-based position, but candidates must reside within 400 miles of the agency's headquarters in Atlanta, GA, to allow for occasional in-person meetings.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop and oversee detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Regularly monitor project progress, identify potential risks and roadblocks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for projects.
• Proactively manage changes to project scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with IT, vendors, partner agencies, and subject matter experts to implement solutions.
• Lead project planning sessions using various project methodologies and iterative frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, and Agile.
• Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project status through reports and presentations.
• Document progress and communicate with executive leadership as needed to address deficiencies.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to form and maintain collaboration among partners and teams.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management certification (PMP).
• Experience with the Salesforce platform.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira or Asana.
• Experience measuring staff effort related to user stories and technical tasks.
• Understanding of document management and version control.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65.00 per hour
