Job Overview

The blithequark Choice Science + Mix (DDSI) association is responsible for supporting clients across blithequark, including the entertainment, media, and consumer products sectors. Our team uses technology, data analysis, optimization, statistical, and econometric modeling to investigate opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive business value. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Information Engineering group, where you will play a key role in developing and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and data sets for our media business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, databases, and data sets for our media business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client, and Technology colleagues
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines, data validation processes, and ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Work with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Develop and maintain automated workflow schedulers
  • Design and implement database schema/tables/views, and deliver datasets as input to science models and representations
  • Utilize technologies such as SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, Gitlab, and Windstream

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
  • Proven expertise and proficiency using Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
  • Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code organization/development
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated workflow schedulers
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, ideally AWS
  • Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience using Docker
