Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of financial service delivery. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, a client-first mindset, and the ability to lead with clarity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly maintenance of QuickBooks Files
Manage the month-end close process for multiple clients, ensuring timely reconciliations and reporting.
Lead payroll and invoicing clients, overseeing entries, processing, and client communication.
Support other bookkeepers with technical questions, account troubleshooting, and workload management.
Communicate directly with clients, delivering updates, gathering documentation, and maintaining relationships.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with both clients and internal staff.
Collaborate with management to prioritize projects and ensure successful outcomes.
Mentor and support team members, contributing to a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and excellence.
Expectations & Collaboration:
Commit to a minimum of 30 hours a week Monday - Friday 9 am - 4pm CST
Communicate consistently and proactively via Slack, Canopy, and email.
Be solution-oriented, always looking for ways to optimize processes.
What We’re Looking For:
This is not a train on the job position. Candidate needs to be able to demonstrate accounting competency.
Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping experience; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Expertise: Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online, payroll systems, invoicing, and reconciliation practices.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate financial information clearly for clients and team members.
Organization: Detail-oriented with strong time and task management skills.
Team Leadership: Proven ability to support and grow a team in a remote environment.
Problem Solving: Confidence in making decisions and resolving client or team issues independently when needed.
