About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Customer Success Associate to join our Borrower Success Team. As a key member of our team, you will work directly with student loan borrowers to help them navigate blithequark's tools and enroll in federal forgiveness and repayment programs. With comprehensive training and hands-on experience, you will quickly become an expert in the student loan landscape and serve as the first point of contact for our users. This is a remote, full-time, contractor role for up to 5 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent hiring based on performance and company needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding blithequark's product offerings and how they address borrowers' needs, including our algorithm-based recommendations and innovative technology
• Engaging with borrowers via email and live chat, providing empathetic and clear support to help them achieve their financial goals
• Reviewing and submitting applications for federal loan programs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Proactively suggesting and implementing ideas and automations that can help scale the team, driving efficiency and excellence in our operations
• Bringing user feedback to life with the product, design, and engineering teams to create new features and offerings, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Collaborating with the Borrower Success Team to achieve team and company growth goals in line with our social mission, working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our borrowers

Recommended Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking teammates with at least one year of relevant work experience, preferably in start-ups, finance (including financial aid or fintech), government programs, or customer support. A strong passion for applying your talents in a fast-paced startup environment to tackle a major social issue is essential. During the interview process, we will be evaluating key qualities in your experience and potential, including:

Essential Skills and Competencies

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with borrowers, teammates, and other stakeholders. You should be highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. A strong understanding of the student loan landscape and federal forgiveness and repayment programs is desirable, as well as experience with customer support software and technology.
