Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to manage customer queries and complaints, process orders and modifications, and escalate issues across multiple communication channels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and experience working with computers. This is a remote work opportunity, and you must be a resident of Oklahoma. You will be required to attend four weeks of virtual training between 8 am and 5 pm CST, after which you will work a permanent Monday-to-Friday schedule, with hours ranging from 7 am to 7 pm CST.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicating with customers through various channels, including phone, email, and chat
- Acknowledging and resolving customer complaints, providing excellent customer service and support
- Knowing our products and services inside and out to answer questions and provide accurate information
- Processing orders, forms, applications, and requests, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Keeping records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity
- Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Providing feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation
- Managing a team of junior customer service representatives, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
Position Summary
As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for answering questions and resolving issues based on phone calls, letters, and other correspondence from members, providers, and plan sponsors. You will triage resulting rework to appropriate staff, provide excellent customer service for high-volume inbound provider calls, and conduct extensive claims research on multiple platforms to assist providers with payment questions. You will also provide customers with related information to answer unasked questions, use customer service threshold frameworks to make financial decisions, and explain members' rights and responsibilities in accordance with contract.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Reside in the state of Oklahoma full-time
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office products and have experience working with computers
- Have experience in a highly transactional call center environment, with excellent customer service and critical thinking skills
- Have high-speed internet access (25 mbps or higher) and a consistent connection, with a work location set up with a direct connection to the router (not Wi-Fi)
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment
- Knowledge of claims processing and insurance principles
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other technology platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers
