Job Overview

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for promoting sales to direct consumers by initiating chats, acting on leads and/or prospects, identifying travel needs, presenting and explaining blithequark products, and making travel recommendations. As a key member of our sales team, you will establish and maintain quality customer relationships by delivering exceptional customer service, establishing rapport, identifying and meeting customer needs and expectations, and following up with consumers as necessary to close sales and meet or exceed revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote sales to direct consumers by initiating chats, acting on leads and/or prospects, identifying travel needs, presenting and explaining blithequark products, and making travel recommendations
  • Establish and maintain quality customer relationships by delivering exceptional customer service, establishing rapport, identifying and meeting customer needs and expectations, and following up with consumers as necessary to close sales and meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with new and existing consumers, maintaining consumer prospect lists/contact database to identify client travel trends
  • Proactively and consistently seek opportunities to promote and sell blithequark products based on client travel history
  • Acquire in-depth industry and company knowledge to articulate cruise product features, benefits, pricing, and make recommendations, including promotions, itineraries, and auxiliary products such as stateroom upgrades, onboard credits, and other shipboard amenities
  • Attend and actively participate in daily team meetings or relevant sales training to ensure appropriate sales techniques are being used and accurate information is being communicated to direct consumers
  • Participate in department-approved mass e-mail campaigns targeting specific guests' profiles
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. You will also need to have a minimum of one year of sales experience, with 2 years of sales experience preferred, and cruise sales experience is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

You will need to have excellent verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with direct guests on the telephone and internally. You will also need to maintain a strong working knowledge of blithequark's products, including the current fleet and ship itineraries. The ability to multi-task and work in a high-energy sales environment that is goal/quota-driven is essential, and adherence to a strictly enforced dress code is required.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $24,960, plus the opportunity to participate in our Sales Incentive Plan. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and applicable employment laws. You will also be eligible for a range of benefits, including 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement. As a sales professional, you will also have the opportunity to earn commission pay, with average earnings of $55-60k annually.

Schedule and Work Arrangements

This is a full-time position that requires working a late night/early morning shift, with 1-2 weekend days assigned. You will be given one of five possible schedules, which include:

  • M-Th & Sunday: 4am-1pm EST
  • M & Wed-Saturday: 5am-2pm EST
  • M-Wed, Fri, Sun: 6am-3pm EST
  • M, Tue, Thur, Sat & Sun (split shift): 6am-10am & 5pm-9pm
  • M, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun (split shift): 8am-12pm & 7pm-11pm

You must be available to work any of these possible schedules, and you will be assigned an open schedule based on the needs of the company.
