Sport Science Intern - Remote
Overview
Flo Labs is looking for a Sport Science Intern to contribute to cutting-edge initiatives at the crossroads of sports science, AI, and wearable technology. You'll be part of a cross-functional team working on AI-enhanced systems that optimize athletic training, support rehabilitation, and enhance mobility for both elite performers and populations with physical limitations, including seniors.
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to collect and analyze biomechanical and physiological data, contribute to the development of smart wearable solutions, and participate in R&D that fuels next-generation training, wellness, and mobility tools.
Additionally, you will engage in continuous research and evaluation of emerging AI tools to enhance productivity, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements. This proactive approach ensures our team remains at the forefront of innovation, integrating cutting-edge solutions into our workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze data from athletes and mobility-focused users using smart sensors and AI platforms.
• Support the development and testing of wearable performance tools designed for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and physical optimization.
• Conduct literature reviews on emerging trends in sports performance, biomechanics, and health technology.
• Contribute to the design of personalized training or rehabilitation programs based on real-time sensor insights.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and researchers to ensure solutions are technically robust and user-centric.
• Assist in preparing internal documentation, research summaries, and performance reports.
• Investigate and apply AI tools that could enhance analysis, monitoring, and reporting in sports and mobility use cases.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (preferred, not required).
• Basic understanding of data analytics tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB is a plus.
• Familiarity with research methodologies, literature reviews, or sensor data collection is a plus.
• Exposure to machine learning or AI algorithms for performance analysis is a plus.
• Enthusiasm for AI-driven solutions in sports performance, health monitoring, and mobility enhancement.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when working with performance metrics and feedback loops.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving engineers, designers, and researchers.
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and contribute to projects with meaningful real-world impact.
