About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative to join our Medicaid Member Support team. As a key member of our team, you will serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in a customer service role, ensuring that all interactions are handled with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates, providing clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements.
  • Provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in a customer service role, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring that all information is handled with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone, ensuring that all data is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Family Care rules/guidelines and other related program policies, staying up-to-date on all changes and updates to ensure that customers receive the most accurate and relevant information.
  • Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements, ensuring that all customers are fully informed and empowered to make informed decisions.

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes. You should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers, and have the ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA. A background check is also required for this position.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 per hour, with bi-weekly pay and a range of benefits, including paid training, equipment, and ongoing support.
