Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our CPAP Centralized Care Team, you will provide exceptional support to our customers, including patients, referral sources, and employees. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and efficient processing of new orders, while also providing product and service information, education, and resolving customer inquiries and concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Process new orders, ensuring accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
- Conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services and products, obtaining authorization and qualification documentation as needed
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
- Build relationships with locations, field management, patients, and referral sources, providing product and service information and education as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations
- Work extensively with our proprietary system, eIntake, to manage patient data and ensure seamless communication with our team members
- Collaborate with the Billing Department to prepare complete and accurate files, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient information
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment, preferably in the medical field or administrative record management
- Strong customer service background, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, organization, and time-management skills
- Knowledge of medical billing practices and billing reimbursement, with the ability to interpret a variety of communications in English (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual)
- Medical terminology and knowledge of current products and services, including Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a remote or home-based environment, with the ability to maintain productivity and focus in a self-directed setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
- Previous experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) or similar systems, with the ability to navigate and utilize our proprietary system, eIntake
- Certification in medical billing or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
