Summary The Opportunity Hyatt seeks an enthusiastic Director to join our Hyatt Sales Force Meeting and Events team. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader HSF teams as well as hotel colleagues, where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the below: • Develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth across professional, collegiate, and youth sports markets. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including leagues, teams, housing partners, governing bodies, and agencies. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the global sports travel sector. • Direct hotel and resort sourcing for major sports partners across regular and postseason play, marquee events, tournaments, and administrative meetings. • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—sales, marketing, operations, and finance—to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategies. • Provide strategic guidance and best practices to colleagues and customers; share insights on training, tools, and company initiatives. • Support hotels and customers in contract negotiations, lead distribution, and property recommendations. • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market intelligence to refine sales strategies. • Manage sales pipeline, forecast performance, and provide reporting and analysis to senior leadership. • Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows. • Ensure an exceptional customer experience through proactive communication, issue resolution, and collaboration with hotel teams. Qualifications Experience Required: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Experience managing large-scale sports accounts, bids, and events from sourcing through execution. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify opportunities, and make informed business recommendations. • Proven ability to influence and guide internal stakeholders without direct authority, fostering collaboration between global and property-level teams. • Skilled in conflict resolution and service recovery with a focus on long-term relationship retention. • Confident public speaker and presenter at client-facing events or industry conferences. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) • Self-disciplined, organized, and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Experience Preferred: • Familiarity with Lanyon, CVENT, Envision, Cognos, Tableau, Reserve, and Oracle preferred. • 4+ years with sales experience in the Sports segment of hotel sales • Experience in coaching or team leadership is a plus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
