Job Title: HEDIS Coordinator
Work Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months (Contract-to-Hire)
Pay Rate: $34/hour
Schedule: 8am-5pm EST (lunch-noon-1pm)
As project volume increases, OT will be required with OT pay (flexible with OT hours worked with prior approval)
Position Purpose:
Perform duties to ensure HEDIS data accuracy and reporting, including investigation, auditing, and improvement opportunities. Assist with quality improvement initiatives in the service and clinical areas.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of quality improvement or healthcare-related experience
• Working knowledge of the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)
• HEDIS requirements preferred
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate, complete, and update management on clinical quality metrics and HEDIS processes and results
• Establish and maintain an action plan to improve HEDIS scores
• Implement processes to request and evaluate member compliance reports for each HEDIS measure and identify improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with providers and internal departments on rate investigation and validation activities, maintaining all evidence, documentation, and changes
• Manage the HEDIS project, including assignment of nurses, adherence to timelines, and vendor oversight for timeliness and quality
• Conduct quality audits and maintain data and process controls to ensure compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with all company policies and standards
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Participate in the HEDIS project measuring provider performance and effectiveness of care
• Abstract data from medical records and enter it into designated systems and programs
• Work within multiple systems with provided training
Required Skills:
• Basic Excel and Word skills
• EMR and medical record review experience (within a medical office setting)
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
Preferred Skills:
• Strong customer service and communication abilities
• Quick learner
• Technologically proficient
• Knowledge of HEDIS requirements
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with 3+ years in quality improvement or healthcare and working knowledge of NCQA.
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline with HEDIS experience.
