Senior Reinsurance Accountant (Open to Remote)

Job Summary The Senior Reinsurance Accountant will perform all aspects of treaty assumed accounting of assigned brokers including thorough account analysis of complex reinsurance contracts, entry into reinsurance system, and cash settlement. Participate in the preparation of monthly closing reports and quarterly underwriting results. Lead or assist with special projects, system enhancements, testing, and ad-hoc reporting requests. It is preferred that this role be hybrid, based in the Morristown, NJ office with a two-day onsite expectation each week. However, the team is open to remote based candidates in the US who have the ideal experience and background for this role. Responsibilities and Accountabilities • Analyze & process complex monthly/quarterly treaty reinsurance accounts. • Reconcile broker invoices and prepare cash disbursements. • Review premium & loss bordereaux to ensure compliance with treaty terms & to identify catastrophe or large loss activity. • Document and resolve account or cash issues. • Confirm and process adjustable features on contingent and sliding scale commissions as well as retrospectively rated premium adjustments. • Prepare and update pro-rata claims automatic upload template. • Analyze and process retro QS accounts. • Employ process improvements and efficiencies to facilitate execution and analysis. • Ensure effective SOX controls are maintained and followed. • Assist in the preparation of Assumed & Ceded Schedule F. Required Skills and Abilities • In-depth knowledge of treaty reinsurance accounting concepts • Microsoft Excel - proficient in pivot table & v-lookup functionality • Snowflake - Query creation a plus Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA or professional certifications (CPCU) a plus • 5+ years of experience in assumed or ceded reinsurance accounting, with a focus on property & casualty #LI-remote #LI-AT1 For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible. $105,000 - $130,000/year • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
