Job Overview

In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our government clients, responding to inbound calls, documenting conversations, and utilizing scripts and resources to guide interactions. Your ability to demonstrate empathy, provide accurate information, and maintain confidentiality will be essential in delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a remote customer service representative, you will be required to work independently, manage your time effectively, and maintain a reliable and secure home office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound calls from government clients, providing timely and accurate information, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Document details of conversations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records
  • Utilize scripts, online reference materials, and other resources to guide conversations and provide confident, accurate, and efficient information
  • Maintain sufficient reliable private internet connection, with the ability to hardwire via ethernet cable, to ensure seamless and secure communication
  • Proficiently utilize technical systems, including desktop, call center specific phone systems, and the internet, to manage customer interactions and resolve issues
  • Meet department quality assurance standards and metrics, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and continuous improvement
  • Educate and answer questions from customers, providing the most up-to-date information about the program, and demonstrating a strong customer focus rooted in empathy
  • Follow protocol and apply sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential information, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities that enable you to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The following requirements and qualifications are essential:

Must Have (Required)

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to utilize online reference materials, technical systems, and other software applications
  • Ability to pass language knowledge assessment, demonstrating proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Strong internet connection, due to the remote nature of this role, with the ability to maintain a reliable and secure home office environment

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Bilingual or Multilingual, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customer groups
  • Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative, preferably in a call center or government client support environment
  • Previously cleared for a Public Trust Entry of Duty Clearance Level (Government Clients Only), demonstrating a high level of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Licenses in Insurance, Healthcare, and/or Finance sectors, providing a strong foundation for understanding complex customer issues
  • Previous experience with FEMA Call Center, or similar emergency response environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in high-pressure situations
