Job Overview

In this remote position, you will be responsible for handling customer service calls in a prompt and courteous manner, resolving patient questions and problems regarding patient accounts, payments, and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Internet navigation to efficiently manage patient information and resolve issues.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and understandably with patients, listening attentively to their concerns and providing empathetic support.
  • Take patient demographics and other patient information as needed, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation and notate accounts on collection activity to perform account resolution.
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information and ensuring timely processing.
  • Collect patient payments in accordance with payment due dates and establish payment plans within approved guidelines.
  • Complete and mail necessary patient statements and return mail in a timely manner, ensuring seamless communication with patients.
  • Create an atmosphere of comfort and peace, making it easy for patients to interact with our services and feel valued as our first priority.
  • Answer all phone calls within 2 minutes of the call hitting the system, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
  • Answer and end all phone calls within the set dialogue parameters established by leadership, maintaining an average of 65 calls per day.
  • Attend in-services, seminars, and webinars for additional education and performance improvement, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with 1 year of experience in customer service and/or call center industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer Service Basics or equivalent training, demonstrating your commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and understandably with patients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Internet navigation, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
  • A strong ability to provide outstanding customer service, deescalate difficult situations, and remain positive in all interactions with patients.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience in a remote or call center environment, with a proven track record of success in handling high volumes of customer inquiries.
  • Additional education or training in customer service, communications, or a related field, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Certifications or specialized training in customer service, such as Customer Service Certification (CSC) or Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR), highlighting your expertise and dedication to delivering exceptional patient experiences.
