Graphic Design Intern, Winter 2025
Job Description:
• Get your start with us. Middle Seat is a full-service firm for progressive causes and candidates.
• Work with campaigns, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and causes on the front lines of racial justice, climate action, privacy and tech policy, immigration rights, and economic justice.
• You'll work closely with our design team to support real campaigns and causes with impactful visuals.
• You’ll create social media graphics, digital ads, print collateral, branding assets, and more.
• You’ll be encouraged to bring your own creative voice while learning how to collaborate in a fast-paced political design environment.
Requirements:
• You’re excited by the idea of using design to drive progressive change
• You enjoy solving visual problems and thinking creatively
• You’re comfortable using tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva
• You’re detail-oriented, take feedback well, and are always looking to learn
• You’re a senior, in your last year of an undergraduate program, or a recent grad
• It would be nice if you:
• Have experience working on design for advocacy, nonprofit, or political projects
• Are familiar with Adobe After Effects or other motion design tools
• Know how to edit short videos using After Effects or Premiere Pro
• Have a working knowledge of accessibility in design
• Are interested in UX/UI or web design
• And it’s essential that you:
• Are committed to working for progressive political candidates and causes
• Are a team player
• Follow along with the news of the day, particularly an understanding of the U.S. political system as well as key progressive issues
• Can commit to full-time (40-hour work week) or near full-time availability, with consistent hours each week
• Are based in the United States
Benefits:
• We offer a salary of $20 per hour.
• We are committed to building a diverse and passionate team. We encourage creative-minded individuals with a strong technical aptitude to apply for this position. Women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals are encouraged to apply.
• Our firm is values-driven. We are intentional with the decidedly left-of-center clients we work with — and we strive to make our work environment and benefits reflect that, including salary transparency, healthy work-life balance, and consistent employee feedback and communication. We’re happy to talk more about our company culture with prospective applicants.
