About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Part-Time Remote Customer Service Advocate to join our team. As a Customer Service Advocate, you will be the primary point of contact for our members, providing exceptional service and support to address their questions, concerns, and needs. Your role will be crucial in ensuring member satisfaction, resolving issues, and promoting our organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service by applying blithequark's Five Service Principles, educating members, family, providers, and caregivers about benefits and plan options.
  • Accurately explain benefits and plan options in person, via email, or telephonically, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Provide follow-up support to members, clarifying issues, determining causes, and identifying and explaining solutions, escalating concerns to management or other departments as required.
  • Consistently meet or exceed departmental standards, including quality, productivity, and adherence to schedule and attendance.
  • Respond to member and internal staff inquiries in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues and providing solutions.
  • Participate in member calling projects to support membership retention and overall organizational goals.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and job aids to maintain efficient and compliant operations, communicating suggestions for improvement to management.
  • Document transactions, completing applicable member forms and summarizing actions taken in our computer system.
  • Temporarily respond to routine member questions and concerns on specific medical group call queues as part of skill development.
  • Contribute to team efforts, accomplishing related results as needed, and actively support the achievement of blithequark's Vision and Goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A G.E.D. or High School diploma.
  • 1-2 years of call center or related customer service experience.
  • 1-2 years of prior experience with Medicare benefits, including Medicare Advantage Plans (preferred).
  • Experience in the healthcare, insurance, or pharmacy industry (highly desirable).
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in highly charged situations.
  • Data entry and general computer skills (word processing, email).
  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills and a professional, pleasant telephone manner.
  • Ability to handle large call volumes while providing excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated efficiency and effectiveness in a high-call-volume environment.
