Job Overview

The Data Engineering team at blithequark is responsible for partnering with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality data pipeline and database engineering services. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of products for our Media business. Key Responsibilities

  • Gather data requirements and design data pipelines to meet business needs
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies
  • Design and implement database schema, tables, and views to support business applications
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows and data processing schedules
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders on data-related matters
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our data engineering practices

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
  • Proven expertise in Python and SQL, with experience working with Snowflake and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code management/development
  • Strong understanding of relational database design and functionality

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and experiences will be highly regarded:

  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
  • Experience managing and deploying code using a source control system like GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience using Docker and containerization technologies
