Part-Time Structural Engineer (U.S.-Based Remote) – PE Preferred

Company: Clayborn Engineering Group Job Type: Part-time / As-needed Work Arrangement: Remote Compensation: Hourly – based on experience and licensure About the Role Clayborn Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to provide part-time support for residential and small commercial projects in and around Indianapolis. Our work primarily includes single-family homes, additions, renovations, structural repairs, and small commercial tenant improvements. This role is ideal for an engineer looking for flexible, project-based work with a steady pipeline. Responsibilities • Perform structural analysis and design for residential and light commercial projects • Review and mark up structural drawings prepared by our drafting team • Prepare calculations, details, and structural notes for permit submittals • Address AHJ comments and assist with permit revisions • Coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines as needed • Sign and seal drawings in Indiana, where applicable Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Indiana preferred) • Strong experience with residential and small commercial structures • Working knowledge of IBC, IRC, and Indiana/local AHJ requirements • Ability to communicate clearly through redlines, emails, and brief calls • Reliable availability for part-time, responsive support Nice-to-Haves • Ability to sign and seal in Indiana (or willingness to pursue reciprocity) • Experience with renovations, existing buildings, and older structures • Familiarity with AutoCAD (review/markup only; drafting not required) Engagement Details • Part-time, as-needed workload • Hours vary by project • Work issued with clear scope and notice to proceed • Hours tracked and paid weekly How to Apply Please email the following to info@clayborngroup.com: • Resume • State(s) of licensure • Sample calculations or redlined plans (if available) • Hourly rate and typical availability Job Type: Part-time Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
