[Remote] Civil Engineer, Development Engineering (2+ years experience)

As a Civil Engineer on the Development Engineering team, you will manage site design and technical diligence for renewable energy projects, ensuring efficient and constructible layouts while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Support project development from concept to completion, identifying and mitigating design, budget, and schedule risks, with a focus on civil engineering
• Own and manage site constraint maps, layouts, and designs, coordinating with external consultants and EPCs
• Optimize civil site layouts for efficient land use, considering factors like equipment selection, topography, environmental constraints, and permitting requirements
• Manage and coordinate site technical diligence activities, including hydrology and geotechnical studies
• Provide civil engineering support during EPC contract execution
Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years experience in design, project management, or construction of renewable energy projects
• Solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards for renewable energy projects
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks, analyze opportunities, and make sound engineering decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative environment
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards for renewable energy projects is preferred
• Renewable Energy Expertise: Working knowledge of wind and/or solar, including system design, optimization, and cost drivers is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
• Familiarity with automated layout tools and geospatial analysis software
• Experience in grading, stormwater management, and erosion control
• Experience with all phases of project development, from siting to construction
