Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management: On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management for a temporaryrole which could become permanent. This position is a remote position with no onsite requirements. Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Job Description: The Medical Coder Non-Clinical will focus on accurately assigning ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts, particularly in surgical cases. The role involves abstracting selected data items and entering them into the 3M encoder/Epic software. The position requires maintaining a log of work performed and completing UHDDS data abstraction as required. Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Responsibilities: • Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy and attention to detail • Abstract selected data items and enter them in 3M encoder/Epic software with accuracy and attention to detail • Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required • Maintain a log of work performed • Complete other assigned duties as directed by management Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Mandatory Skills: • RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS Certification • Minimum 3 years experience with Inpatient Coding • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology • Proficient with Windows applications, Outlook, WebEx, and other apps • Cooperates well with others • Competent attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Nice-to-Have Skills: • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Effective problem-solving abilities • Experience with surgical coding in a medical center setting Medical Coder Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Assignment Length: This is a temporary position which could become permanent.
