Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Actuarial Development Program at arenaflex is a full-time, dynamic, and long-term program that is intended to foster the development of individuals entering the actuarial field into future leaders. The program provides participants with challenging work assignments designed to develop the skills and expertise needed to become future financial leaders at arenaflex. As an Actuarial Development Program Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects and assignments that will help you develop your actuarial skills and knowledge.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in all four rotations of the program, which will immerse you in key business areas and provide you with exposure to risk evaluation, rate filing, reserve analysis, planning and budgeting, pricing, trend and product design, and technical capability
  • Developing and applying actuarial skills and knowledge to support business decision-making and drive business results
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and drive business outcomes
  • Analyzing data and developing insights to inform business decisions and drive business results
  • Communicating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and applying this knowledge to drive business innovation and growth

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational foundation in a relevant field, such as actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics. You will also need to have a strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics

  • Experience with statistical or coding software, such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R
