Staff Accountant (Remote – Tax & Advisory Focus)

We’re growing our advisory team and looking for a Senior Accountant who’s as comfortable building relationships with clients as they are preparing tax returns and managing financial statements. About the Role As a Senior Accountant at IncSight, you’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 40 small business clients across industries. You’ll provide a mix of monthly accounting, tax preparation, and strategic tax planning services—helping clients understand their numbers and make better business decisions. This is a client-facing role with real advisory impact. You’ll work closely with business owners and collaborate with our internal tax advisory team to deliver proactive strategies year-round. Responsibilities • Prepare individual (1040) and business (1120, 1120S, 1065) tax returns. • Review client financials and perform monthly/quarterly accounting. • Conduct tax planning sessions and identify opportunities to reduce liabilities. • Research and resolve tax and accounting issues for small business clients. • Assist clients with IRS and state correspondence. • Maintain accurate general ledger and reconcile monthly bank statements. • Oversee client payroll and ensure compliance. • Conduct client meetings to discuss tax and business solutions. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure deadlines and client deliverables are met. Qualifications • 5+ years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns. • 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience with small businesses. • EA or CPA license (preferred). • Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks Online. • Proficiency in tax prep and spreadsheet tools (Proconnect experience a plus). • Excellent communication and client relationship skills. • Tech-savvy, proactive, and able to thrive in a remote work environment.
