About The Role

You will serve as the Lead Medical Writer on projects. You will provide research, assist with allocation assignments to writers, and meet the content demands of customised Medical Communications initiatives and/or lead on multiple accounts. You will participate in strategic client interactions; develop client presentations; provide high-quality editorial oversight for all content, including planning through to review. You will ensure editorial quality and the successful completion of all client content projects to timescales and deliverables.

• Act as a lead writer and client contact for assigned accounts
• Develop content, working closely with your assigned project team to ensure quality editorial implementation of all assigned-client programs
• Effectively and proactively communicate with the editorial, client, vendor and project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
• Briefing, reviewing, guidance and direction to less experienced writers in account team​
• Provide high‑quality scientific oversight for assigned large/complex projects or a workstream​
• Drive project delivery and champions processes both internal and external (including compliance)​
• Provide business development support, investigate, conceptualise, and strategize new medical communications projects and publications to support the assigned-clients needs and opportunities
• Represent Avalere Health at client meetings, advisory boards, speaker-training meetings, business development initiatives

• Degree in a scientific or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical or scientific writing, preferably within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of scientific content types, including high volume publications, and review content for accuracy and flow.
• Proven experience in project ownership and problem-solving, with the ability to work proactively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong client communication skills and the ability to serve as a reliable point of contact for clients and external experts.
• Proven ability to provide leadership and mentoring to junior writers.
• Experience managing client relationships and serving as a key point of contact.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
