Tax & Trust Administration Paralegal
Foley & Lardner LLP is a prominent law firm known for its innovative legal services and commitment to professional development. They are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support their Business Law team and Estate Planning practice group, primarily focusing on estate planning, administration, and trust matters. The role involves drafting documents, assisting with administration processes, and preparing various tax returns.
Responsibilities
- Draft estate planning and probate documents
- Support and assist with estate and trust administration processes
- Attend client meetings and maintain frequent client contact for administration matters
- Prepare financial statements, accountings, schedules, and Excel model analyses
- Prepare various tax returns, including:
- Fiduciary (Form 1041)
- Estate (Form 706)
- Gift (Form 709)
- Individual (Form 1040)
- Non-profit (Forms 990 & 990PF)
- Partnership (Form 1065)
- Consistently achieve billable hour expectation set by the firm (including approved non-billable time)
Skills
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in estate planning, trust administration, and/or tax preparation required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program
- Experience preparing forms 1041, 1040, 706, 709, 990, 990PF, and/or 1065 for tax returns strongly desired
- Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH, OneSource, UltraTax CS, GoSystem Tax RS) is a plus
