[Remote] Squarespace Web Designer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Knapsack Creative is a web design agency that specializes in helping small business owners, coaches, and creators tell their unique stories through stunning, functional websites. They are seeking a website designer to create and develop Squarespace websites from start to finish for their clients, as well as design new website templates and marketing graphics.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients via video call to understand their needs
• Design websites for clients using Squarespace
• Make live changes to designs with the client present
• Choose stock photography for sites
• Design graphics for clients
• Present website designs to clients
• Customize site styles with CSS
• Design website templates for Squarespace
• Connect domains and launch websites
• Create graphics and emails for marketing efforts
• Provide suggestions for improving processes
• Occasionally design logos, print materials, and more

Skills

• Experience with Squarespace
• Able to design in a variety of styles
• Proficient in Photoshop or other similar design tools
• Able to make quick design decisions on the fly
• Excellent face-to-face and written communication skills
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues
• Good understanding of website usability principles
• Able to professionally present a design to a client
• CSS knowledge is a plus
• Experience working with a variety of industries is a plus
• Being familiar with the StoryBrand framework is a plus
• Basic copywriting skills are a plus
