Accountant I

Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. is the leading mortgage subservicing firm in the United States with several hundred financial institution clients nationwide. The Accountant I is responsible for data entry and general entry-level accounting processes, including managing client remittances and accounts payable, as well as assisting with various departmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Daily data entry for client remittances, accounts payable and wire transfers/ACH payments
• Preparation of daily deposit
• Preparation and mailing of daily check run
• Preparation and posting of general journal entries into the accounting program
• Communicate with other departments to ensure the smooth processing of all transactions
• Filing of all paid invoices and checking copies
• Maintain a listing of all company files sent to the outside storage area
• Assist in any special projects assigned to the department
• Assist in document requests from both internal and outside auditors
• Successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

• High School degree
• Proficient with Microsoft applications (including advanced Excel experience)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to handle complex, multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to always interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences
• 1 year of experience in the mortgage industry preferred
• Bachelor's degree
