Deputy District Attorney 1
Boulder County Sheriff's Office is inviting applications for the role of Deputy District Attorney for the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The Deputy District Attorney I is responsible for managing a county court docket, developing trial skills, and representing the Office of the District Attorney professionally while adhering to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and tries cases involving misdemeanor, traffic and petty offenses
- Assists the Chief Deputy in the intake of misdemeanor and traffic cases
- Explains and interprets statutes and status of various cases to the general public, and determines the adequacy of complaints presented by the public
- Assists district court and juvenile court deputies in the prosecution of routine felony matters
- Periodically serves on call to provide legal advice to law enforcement agencies and answer immediate questions from the general public
- Attorneys will be required, on occasion, to respond to crime scenes at all hours and weekends
- Candidates will be expected to have a strong work ethic and demonstrate good teamwork
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
Skills
- Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Juris Doctorate (JD)
- Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license
- A job offer is contingent on passing a criminal background investigation with fingerprinting

- Bilingual in Spanish and English
