Job Overview

The Part-Time Statistics Analyst I is a key role in the Details and Analysis group within arenaflex's Details and Data Gathering team. As a Statistics Analyst I, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports information on arenaflex stages around the world. You will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of accurate, timely, and intelligent sports information. This is a part-time, full-time equivalent position that requires a high level of flexibility, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee sports information disseminated by Details and Data is accurate, timely, and sagacious.
  • Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver accurate detailed breakdown, clock-and-score, and different measurements and data in real-time that power a multitude of arenaflex products and productions.
  • Create and maintain an active knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling arenaflex digital products and television productions.
  • Check the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high attention to detail.
  • Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-and part-time staff.
  • Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate rapidly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
  • Play a proactive role in working with stakeholders in developing or refining production processes.
  • Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
  • Seek and respond to feedback around individual performance.
  • Stay informed of current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games.
  • Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (exclusively), weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports information that drives arenaflex's digital and television products.
  • Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
  • Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes.
  • Working knowledge of arenaflex products and productions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish.
  • Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

Education Requirements

The minimum education requirement for this role is a High School diploma or equivalent. However, a Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
