Job Overview Experience College Admissions Counselor Meet one-on-one with high school and college students to offer guidance and mentorship, helping them through the Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Process. Lead seminars and workshops throghout the year. Caseload of 20-40 students (65K-100K yearly salary depending on your preferred caseload). We work with students across the US (virtually) to offer personal guidance and mentorship so they can build their profile for a strong college application. Counselors maintain low caseloads compared to other companies (20-40 students per counselor). This allows us to provide top-tier service to our clients and dedicate the time necessary to elevate their profiles. As such, we require our counselors to be experienced and confident problem-solvers. We want our counselors to think outside the box and develop creative strategies for each student. Our counselors dig deep to provide high value to each student. Beyond academic guidance, we help develop individual research, projects, business plans, prototyping, and more. Responsibilities • Conduct counseling sessions to guide students with academic planning, college applications, and career exploration. • Create personalized plans for each student given their career and college interests. • Develop and deliver seminars/workshops on topics such as college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, student progress, and advising outcomes. • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external organizations to coordinate opportunities such as summer programs, internships, research, and more. • Assist students in preparing for interviews, standardized tests, and other admissions requirements. • Analyze current trends in higher education, university programs, and employment markets to provide relevant guidance. • A few times per year, we conduct in-person fairs, seminars, conferences -- you must attend these. Travel expenses are paid. Skills • Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides. • Experience in mentoring, individual/group counseling, and academic advising. • Knowledge of university systems, admissions processes, and financial aid procedures. • Background in education administration or university experience is highly desirable. • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds • Ability to teach or facilitate educational sessions on college readiness topics. Important Info -Your first 3 months will be paid training with a bonus upon completion. -We require you to work at least 20 hours per week, and you can work up to 40 hours per week if you prefer. We have flexible hours but also require you to be flexible when scheduling your student meetings. You must be available at least 3 weekend days per month (Saturday, Sunday). Summer work hours: anytime between 9am-9pm PST.
