Video Content Creator / Editor / Script Writer

Job Overview We are producing a recurring short-form social media show filmed inside a high-end hair salon in Manhattan Beach. The tone is fast, witty, and slightly sitcom style - capturing the real salon culture, behind-the-scenes moments, and fourth-wall breaks. This show will also support the launch and promotion of a new hair-care brand, integrated naturally into storylines, character arcs, and on-screen moments. You’ll help shape how the brand is woven into the content. We’re looking for a creator who can write, shoot, and edit short-form vertical content and deliver 8 episodes per month (1–2 minutes each). You must use your own professional camera gear and be able to film two on-site shoot days per month. Duties • Film in Manhattan Beach two times per month (3–4 hours each) using your own professional camera and gear. • Write scripts and episode outlines blending salon culture and brand-launch storytelling. • Capture clean, well-lit vertical footage with professional audio when needed. • Edit 8 completed episodes (1–2 minutes each) per month. • Create supplemental micro-clips for TikTok and Instagram. • Integrate brand moments naturally into the show. • Shape the tone, pacing, humor, and personality of the series. • Direct talent and capture authentic in-salon interactions. Qualifications • Experience creating TikTok/Instagram vertical content. • Professional camera equipment and the ability to shoot high-quality vertical video. • Strong editing skills (CapCut, Final Cut, Premiere, or similar). • Ability to write tight, punchy, comedic scripts. • Comfortable filming in a working salon environment. • Reliable, organized, consistent with turnaround times. • Strong sense of episodic structure and character-driven storytelling. • Understanding how to embed brand storytelling into short-form content. Nice to Haves • Beauty, lifestyle, or documentary-style shooting/editing experience. • Ability to direct non-actors and capture natural reactions. • A portfolio with episodic or narrative-style vertical content.
