[Remote] Database Administrator (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Hadoop/Cloudera)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Engineering Careers is seeking experienced Database Administrators to manage a variety of production and development databases. The role involves creating, tuning, and managing databases while ensuring uptime and improving automation processes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Creating, tuning, and managing databases running on a variety of engines • Working within the DBA team, as well as with the IT ops team, to create and improve automation processes for database and storage administration • Ensuring uptime for production databases • Providing on-call coverage as part of a support rotation Skills • Substantial MySQL and PostgreSQL database administrator skills • Familiarity with Linux CLI tools, system administration basics, volume management, and permissions models • A history of success collaborating with operations teams, network engineers, and developers • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Intermediate-level bash scripting • Experience administering any of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), Oracle, Cloudera, or vanilla Hadoop • Experience with orchestration systems such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible • Enthusiasm to learn and apply new technologies Benefits • Health care benefits in most cases Company Overview • Engineering Careers is an employment web site targeted specifically to the Engineering industry.
