Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Commission-Based Business / Energy Brokerage - Contract to Hire
I am the founder of a growing commission-based energy brokerage and am seeking a highly skilled, proactive CPA to manage tax strategy, compliance, and financial structure.
This role is not for basic tax prep only. I am looking for a true advisor who understands complex cash flow, commissions, and multi-revenue businesses and can provide ongoing guidance, not just year-end filings.

Primary Responsibilities
• Business & personal tax planning and tax filing
• Quarterly estimated tax planning & projections
• Review and advise on entity structure (LLC, S-Corp, payroll optimization)
• Coordinate with bookkeeper on monthly financials
• Ensure clean compliance with IRS and state requirements
• Identify tax savings strategies and risk reduction opportunities
• Advise on write-offs, deductions, and timing strategies
• Support with IRS notices or audits if needed
• Work collaboratively with operations leadership (COO/consultant)

Ideal Candidate Qualifications (REQUIRED)
• Active CPA license (U.S.)
• Experience with commission-based or brokerage businesses
• Strong understanding of cash flow volatility
• Experience working with sales teams, independent contractors, and overrides
• Comfortable with multi-entity structures
• Proactive communicator (not once-a-year contact)
• Experience with small to mid-sized businesses scaling
Energy, real estate, financial services, or sales-driven business experience is a PLUS.
