Wage Claims Investigator
The California Department of Industrial Relations is dedicated to ensuring just pay and promoting economic justice in the workplace. The Wage Claims Investigator will investigate claims, interview workers, and educate the public on labor laws to support compliance with wage and hour regulations.
Responsibilities
- Proactively investigates claims to evaluate compliance with the law
- Interviews workers
- Holds settlement conferences to resolve disputes prior to adjudication of claims
- Gathers relevant facts and applies theories of liabilities in order to assess violations
- Educates the public on labor laws
- Performs a wide variety of duties involving enforcement of wage and hour laws in the WCA program
Skills
- Applicants must be either reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility or have reinstatement eligibility
