Internship - Graduate Level
Howard Center is dedicated to providing internships for students in mental health and developmental fields. Interns will gain experience by working with clients and participating in various client services programs, focusing on supportive counseling and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling and/or therapy to clients in individual, group, school, or community settings
- Participate in clinical documentation/record keeping
- Provide assessment, treatment planning, care coordination, crisis intervention and stabilization
- Implement academic, behavioral and social programming that addresses the unique needs of clients
- Participate in treatment teams, referrals, and follow up care
- Shadow Howard Center employees providing services
- Special projects as needed
Skills
- Program requirements are defined by the educational contract with the school that has oversight of the internship
- The contract will outline specific goals and objectives for the duration of the internship
- Requirements to be outlined include the following: Internship Duration, Supervision, Clinical Documentation, Driving
