ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST
NAVWAR is a public agency looking to fill anticipated vacancies for the position of Administrative Specialist. The role involves performing monthly account reconciliations, monitoring accounts for erroneous payments, and providing direct support to Government Purchase Card programs.
Responsibilities
- You will perform monthly account reconciliation and submit reconciliation packages to the Approving Official for review by required due dates
- You will monitor accounts for erroneous payments
- You will check mandatory sources of supply and obtain approvals prior to initiating purchases
- You will provide direct support to Government Purchase Card programs
- You will assess customer needs and process Government Commercial Purchase Card requests in accordance with policy
Skills
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment
- Generally, current Federal employees applying to APS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
- Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning or managing commercial purchase requisitions by analyzing and implementing processes to successfully support the command projects; ensuring regulatory compliance with laws and regulations; providing technical guidance regarding contracting or commercial acquisition procedures; AND analyzing and providing solutions for policy and procedural problems
