[Remote] Mercury Ignite: Data Engineering Graduate Development Program

Mercury Insurance is seeking graduates for their Mercury Ignite Graduate Program in Data Science, which offers a structured 12-month journey with hands-on experience and rotations through key data science verticals. The program aims to build foundational skills in advanced analytics, statistical methods, and machine learning, while collaborating with teams to drive business insights and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Complete a structured rotation through different areas of Data Science, building a solid foundation in advanced analytical techniques, statistical methods, and machine learning algorithms
- Go beyond analysis; identify relevant data sources, perform feature engineering, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement models into production
- Create and maintain monitoring procedures for model performance and proactively look for ways to improve accuracy
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Intelligence, and IT teams to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable business strategies
- Design automated dashboards and reports (using Python, SQL, or BI tools) to communicate results to stakeholders
Skills
- Be legally eligible to work in the U.S
- Recently completed a bachelor's or both bachelor's and master's degree in a quantitative or Information Technology field (computer science, Data science, etc.)
- Able to provide a cumulative GPA, as reported by your school. Minimum 3.0 GPA required, 3.5 or higher GPA preferred
- Graduation date on or after November 2025 but no later than June 2026
- Planning to seek full-time employment by June 2026
- Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL are essential
- Solid understanding of statistical models and machine learning techniques (Regression, Classification, Clustering)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- A willingness to independently learn new tools and dig deep into ambiguous data
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS), version control (Git), or visualization
