[Remote] USCIS Immigration Attorney (Junior Level)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Moaddel Law Firm APC is a leading Criminal Defense and Immigration firm based in Los Angeles. They are looking for a Junior Level USCIS Immigration Attorney to manage a diverse USCIS caseload, conduct FOIA reviews, prepare clients for interviews, and ensure filings are accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
- Assess relief eligibility and develop case strategies for USCIS matters
- Manage a caseload including family based petitions, U Visas, VAWA, TPS, N-400, I-90, and FOIA reviews
- Review and approve filings prior to submission
- Review 10–15 FOIAs weekly and prepare detailed assessments, including potential relief
- Review CAL DOJ and FBI FOIAs to determine the impact of criminal history on immigration relief
- Draft immigration declarations and supporting documents for motions to vacate
- Prepare clients for USCIS interviews
- Lead, guide, and mentor paralegals and legal assistants
- Ensure deadlines are met and cases move efficiently
- Collaborate with the team to maintain excellent case management and communication
Skills
- Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state (California preferred)
- 1–3 years of immigration law experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Proficient with electronic case management systems
- Organized, detail oriented, proactive, and able to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
- A dependable laptop or desktop (8GB RAM minimum, Core i5 or higher) paired with a stable 10 Mbps connection to ensure smooth performance
- FOIA review experience preferred
- Previous immigration experience as a legal assistant or paralegal strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
