Associate Analyst, Case Research
Financial Recovery Technologies (FRT) is a technology-based services firm that helps institutional investors identify, file claims, and collect funds made available in securities class action settlements globally. As an Associate Analyst on the Case Research Team, you will utilize your research skills to identify legal matters and ensure comprehensive case tracking for client fund recovery.
Responsibilities
- Apply your diligent and detail-oriented mind to the timely and accurate identification and representation of relevant legal matters in our case database
- Follow defined processes for ensuring all cases are identified that would relevant in connection with our domestic claim filing and antitrust products
- Ensure no cases are missed – your team should be the first-to-know of new cases and new developments and settlements in existing cases
- Identify potential improvements to our case research processes and work with others to make them happen
- Ensure our case research process is comprehensive yet efficient, putting quality assurance and control measures in place when appropriate
- Identify opportunities to increase automation in our case, client, and claim tracking systems
- Make sure your work is auditable – not only should we have an excellent process, we should be able to prove we followed it!
- Analyze key case data by demonstrating the application of standard models and consistent decision-making
- Extract and interpret case data in various legal documents
- Apply our standard analysis models to data to properly set up our own case processing for success
Skills
- Experienced in conducting (mostly online) research (exposure to legal research is a plus!)
- Extremely detail oriented – you regularly double-check your work, not because you are sloppy and have to but because you would rather measure twice and cut once
- Engaged in their work, even in the face of at-times-repetitive tasks
- Can see the forest for the trees, making connections to the bigger picture
- A fast learner, capable of making a quick impact on a team
- Able to adhere to established processes without losing the creative spark required to fine tune those processes and identify alternative ways of accomplishing objectives
- Comfortable with the basics of Excel, SQL, and database concepts
- Intellectually curious, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous growth
