Pharmacy Intern PRN Lakeland

Corewell Health Lakeland is dedicated to improving health and providing compassionate care. The Pharmacy Intern will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to formulate, prepare, and deliver medications, while participating in patient care activities and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician’s orders checking for correct dose, drug, route, rate and frequency of administration
• Reviews patient profile for allergies, duplication of drugs and drug interactions and accurately enters orders into computer under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Aseptically reconstitutes, filters, prepares and labels parenteral, sterile products, and chemotherapy, and dispenses other medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Maintains documentation and record keeping
• Participates in patient care activities such as drug use monitoring, pharmacokinetics dosing service and nutritional support services
• Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, and other members of the team in collaboration with a pharmacist
• Participates in special projects, such as data entry or research
• Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Enrolled in accredited PharmD program
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience
