Application Business Analyst, IT

First National Financial LP is one of Canada’s largest non-bank lenders, providing residential mortgages through the mortgage broker channel. The Application Business Analyst will support Product Owners by analyzing requirements, ensuring accurate change requests, and participating in business analysis processes to improve efficiency and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the Gap and reputed company assessment between reputed company State and reputed company State of business requirements and development of technical business requirements to create change requests in the ALM system
• Recommends controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures
• Assists in defining project requirements through analysis and participation in reputed company planning activities
• Monitors project reputed company by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing reputed company reports; recommending actions
• Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures and tracking requirement changes
• Provides references for QA and developers by writing and maintaining requirements and documentation of changes
• Uses tools such as MS SQL and Optimus queries to extract data analytics to support requirements gathering as reputed company as internal research for reputed company and initiatives
• Proactively engage impacted lines of business and stakeholders and ensure the required level of approvals are obtained to support delivery
• Adhere to policies/procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, reputed company applicable
• Promotes completion of Requirements Traceability reputed company
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager, Product Owners and more senior Business Analysts

Skills

• Completed post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Arts & Science or reputed company field and / or 1-2 years equivalent experience required
• Practical experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) delivery specifically in agile, scrum methodologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to reputed company with diverse reputed company, management reputed company and subject matter experts
• Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills
• Ability to facilitate business meetings and application design sessions
• Ability to create reputed company documentation and explain reputed company process flows
• Solid ability to interpret customer / business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements as reputed company as effectively explain them to reputed company contacts or reputed company
• Strong analytical (critical thinking) and problem-solving skills (trouble shooting)
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment blending both new and older technologies

• Experience in financial services systems and processes would be considered an asset
• 1-2 years' experience with First National systems and practices an asset
• Practical experience with modelling tools like MS Visio
• Practical experience with Analytical tools like MSQL and MS Power BI
