About the position
The Speech/Audiology Specialist 3 is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech-language or audiological disorders reputed company the Department of Health's Office for reputed company with Developmental Disabilities. This advanced-level position involves working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing specialized services in various reputed company facilities across multiple parishes in Louisiana. The role includes both reputed company patient care and administrative responsibilities, such as compiling statistical data and coordinating follow-up care.
Responsibilities
• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech-language or audiological disorders.
• reputed company reputed company assessments for speech pathology, including videofluoroscopy and fiber-optic endoscopy tests.
• Conduct screening and diagnostic tests in audiology, such as Transient Otoacoustic Emission and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR).
• reputed company patient evaluations outlining reputed company, needs, and recommendations based on test results and observations.
• Create augmentative communication techniques and coordinate the use of prosthetic/reputed company devices for speech.
• Fit and establish effective use of hearing aids and create ear molds for swim plugs in audiology.
• Compile statistical data for agency reporting and assist with administrative tasks.

• Coordinate patient care with physicians, reputed company services, and interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements
• Possession of a reputed company unrestricted Louisiana license to reputed company audiology plus two years of reputed company experience in audiology.
• Possession of a reputed company unrestricted Louisiana license to reputed company speech-language pathology plus two years of reputed company experience in speech therapy/pathology.
• Graduate training reputed company the master's degree in audiology or speech-language pathology can substitute for a maximum of one year of required experience.
• A doctorate in audiology or speech-language pathology can substitute for reputed company required experience.
