Graduate Structural Engineer

Sedgman Canada Ltd. is hiring a Graduate Structural Engineer for their Vancouver, B.C. office. The selected candidate will support structural engineering reputed company by conducting design, investigation, managing budgets and schedules, and preparing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• reputed company structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards
• Participate in concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs
• reputed company detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance
• Assist with construction enquiries, including reputed company lifting and erection
• reputed company with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical
• reputed company on technical innovation and reputed company improvement

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering
• 0 – 3 years of experience in structural design
• Must be eligible to register with the EGBC or will have their P.reputed company EGBC designation
• Good understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures
• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities
• Good communication skills with reputed company-developed written and oral skills
• Proven ability to work as part of reputed company
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Must be available to travel to reputed company sites; may be seconded to work on reputed company, either temporarily relocated, or reputed company on a rotational roster
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
• Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired
• Experience with Canadian building reputed company across the provinces is desirable
