Data Analyst, Strategic and Commercial Analytics
Wärtsilä is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets. They are seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Wärtsilä’s Energy business in the Americas, focusing on commercial analytics, financial modeling, and market analysis.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify continuous improvement opportunities and develop data-driven solutions
- Analyze large volumes of engine performance data to demonstrate the value proposition of Wärtsilä’s lifecycle solutions within regional markets
- Support quantification of Wärtsilä’s new build equipment and lifecycle agreements for business development, project development, marketing, and sales using new and existing modeling methods
- Develop, maintain, and document financial models and other analytical tools to evaluate new build and lifecycle sales opportunities
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (engineering, data science, economics, finance, or related discipline)
- Experience with analytical tools such as Python and Excel, including packages or add-ins for analyzing large datasets and building predictive models
- Proficiency in AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
- Proactive self-starter with strong communication skills and willingness to learn other aspects of Wärtsilä's business
- Knowledge of electricity markets
- Fluency in English
- Master's degree in engineering, data science, computer science, or similar
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of SQL, Databricks, and Git
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Qlik
- Experience translating technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
