Payroll & Benefits Data Entry Clerk
About the position
Road Ranger, a growing multi-state travel center company, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Data Entry Clerk to join its Payroll Department!
The Payroll & Benefits Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for the daily data entry of new hires, employee changes, benefits, separations, verifications, and any other date entry required in the Company’s store-level payroll and benefits systems. This position will also provide outstanding internal service to store-level employees in their payroll and benefit needs.
Responsibilities
• Execute the timely and accurate processing of all data entry weekly for all store employees, including the data entry of new hires, separations, ADP assistance and payroll changes.
• Assist with distribution of benefit information and data entry of employee enrollment and terminations to include notification of information to carriers.
• Respond to external requests and demands such as employment verifications, garnishments, and other payroll and benefit related items.
• Provide outstanding internal service with employee questions and problem resolution.
• Special projects and other duties as needed.
Requirements
• Relevant work experience and/or college degree in Accounting, Payroll, or similar field required.
• Proficiency in Data Entry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products including Word and Excel.
• Highly professional and ethical with uncompromising morals and integrity
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure prioritize and handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously
• Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Must have the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and laws related to employment activities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically or through other means to individuals or groups
• This position will require a minimum of 3-4 days in office at our Schaumburg, IL office.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with payroll processes is a preferred, but not required.
