Junior Financial Analyst
TileBar is an Omni-Channel retailer and distributor of a wide variety of tiles and related products. The Junior Financial Analyst will manage financial reporting and budgeting, provide reliable data and analysis for decision-making, and assist with the preparation of presentations and financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Be a key member within the FP&A finance team to support ongoing analytical & reporting initiatives and annual budgeting/forecasting processes
- Provide FP&A finance team support with integration of new analytical initiatives, provide data validation, document process changes and create training
- Assist in data validation for the development of the company’s weekly/monthly reporting package, annual budget, rolling forecasts, and the 13-week cash flow model
- Assist in identifying business challenges; propose and create solutions
- Dive deeply into financial data and become a resource to provide additional insights
- Work on corporate projects directed by the FP&A team that impact the entire organization
- Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made
- Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, monthly reporting, and prior-year expenses – proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or have completed extensive related coursework
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.3, or show strong grades in accounting & finance coursework
- Experience with financial data validation, building financial models
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
- Solid training in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
- Team player with growth mindset and fast learner
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities
- Results driven, with the ability to take initiative
- 1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area. Minimum 1 year of experience including internship
- Experience/exposure with enterprise budgeting tools such as Anaplan, Workday Adaptive, Oracle, Planful etc. are highly desirable
