Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Ramp Agent at arenaflex, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of customer baggage and cargo. This is an entry-level position, and our experienced leaders will provide you with the mentorship and support you need to advance your career. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft
  • Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather
  • Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion
  • Operating baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination
  • Guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions to ensure timely connections

As a Ramp Agent, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and you will need to be able to prioritize safety and security at all times. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.

Work Schedule and Benefits

The scheduling for this position is based on operational needs, and shifts can range from early morning to overnight. You can expect to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. The starting pay for this position is $21.85 per hour, with regular pay increases occurring over a period of 10.5 years.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • At least 18 years of age and authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT)
  • Ability to wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to hold airport-specific requirements, such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal
